Are You Giving It All?

As we approach our 1 year anniversary of opening Lotus CrossFit, it has been a reflective time for me to look back over the past year to what I've learned, what mistakes I've made, what I've done correctly and most importantly, where my athletes are in their overall fitness.
I won't bore you with the things I've learned on the business end, but I want to take the time to explain what I see amongst all of you. CrossFit is this ever evolving, ever challenging arena in which you come in the door completely overwhelmed and feel as if you will never be able to do all of the crazy things you see other people doing. Well yes, it is going to take a lot of time and hard work to accomplish elements of CrossFit but if you work hard, practice perfectly (not just practice) and stop worrying about what everyone else in the box is doing, I guarantee you will see yourself accomplishing new tasks continually!
I've been paying close attention over the past several weeks to those athletes that are here religously, use their time at the box wisely, take advantage of volume training and other skill specific resources and it is obvious that they are leaps and bounds ahead of those that aren't putting in the work. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it's the reality! These people are starting to really "move" correctly, olympic lifting is starting to make sense, they don't fatigue near as early into a long wod...they are just all around stronger athletes. Are you one of these folks or are you someone that wants the results but isn't really willing to do what it takes? As we move into Fall and schedules start to normalize, I challenge you to give 110% to your fitness. Show up early, work your goals from the board, dial in your nutrition, keep track of your progress on Beyond the Whiteboard. I promise you it will pay off! I firmly believe that every Lotus athlete has the potential to achieve some amazing personal goals and I want to help you reach them...in return, I ask that you give everything you have to give!
